Our Story

Soul Sip Roasters (SSR)

Established in 2023 in the vibrant city of Nashville, Soul Sip Roasters—fondly known as Soulful Sips (SSR)—started with a simple idea: to craft a coffee experience that feels personal, authentic, and just a little soulful. Driven by a love for local flavor and Nashville’s thriving coffee culture, SSR is all about bringing customizable coffee experiences to locals and tourists alike. Our supply chain is proudly Nashville-rooted, sourcing our beans and warm beverages from local growers and suppliers who share our passion for quality and community.

At SSR, we aim to deliver more than just a great cup of coffee. Each sip is an invitation to slow down, soak up the ambiance, and savor the essence of Nashville, one cup at a time.

The Owner: Wayne Northern

Wayne Northern, a native of Chicago, made Nashville his home nearly five years ago, bringing with him a decade of experience in Food Science and product development. Having honed his skills with Fortune 500 brands, producing everything from candy to drinks, Wayne’s journey has always centered around bringing joy through taste. His transition to Nashville sparked a new vision: to contribute something uniquely his own to the city’s dynamic coffee scene.

With Soul Sip Roasters, Wayne combines his industry expertise with a love for creativity, curating a coffee experience that’s as welcoming as it is flavorful. His goal is simple: to serve up soulful moments in every cup and make SSR a staple in Nashville’s coffee landscape.

Our mission is to elevate the coffee experience by blending artistry with exceptional flavor. We are dedicated to crafting exquisite lattes that not only delight the palate but also inspire the senses through stunning latte art that the customer can select and capture. Our goal is to create an exceptional coffee experience that goes beyond the cup by fostering a vibrant, inclusive community space where everyone feels welcome. 
We are dedicated to providing ethical and locally sourced, high-quality coffee in an atmosphere that feels like home, with friendly service and a personal touch. Through our community events, partnerships with local artists and businesses, and commitment to sustainability, we aim to support and uplift the neighborhoods we serve.
